Enameled cast iron light by Cuisine Romefort
The cast iron light series by Cuisine Romefort is a true all-rounder with the advantages of a conventional cast iron pan at about half the weight. Cast iron stores the transferred heat and distributes it evenly among the surface. The material withstands high temperatures and is therefore perfect for searing vegetables or meat.
In addition to that the pans are ideal for keeping food warm at moderate temperatures or for simmering it.
The cast iron Light pans are characterized by their robust and durable pan bodies, whereby they weigh less than conventional cast iron pans. The pans are even lighter than iron pans, such as those from De Buyer. Because of the lower weight you can work wonderfully with them, swinging food in them or pouring food out of them.
The structure at the bottom of the pans is reminiscent of a honeycomb. The grooves and pores allow you to spread the fat evenly over the entire surface of the pan without it running to the sides.
This way you need less fat when frying with the honeycomb base and still achieve crispy results!
The wooden handle stays cold during cooking, even when the pan is very hot.
The pans of the cast-iron light series by Cuisine Romefort are suitable for all types of stoves, including induction stoves.
The first use:
When you use your enamelled cast iron pan for the first time, rinse it under hot water. Then cover the entire inside with a layer of cooking oil and let the pan heat up on a low flame for a few minutes until the smoke point of the oil is reached. Allow the oil to cool down and then wipe it with kitchen roll. The oil has now penetrated into the pores of the enamel so that your food will not stick to the pan.
Cleaning and care:
For cleaning, we recommend rinsing the pans with clear, warm water immediately after use and wiping with a sponge. If necessary, you can also use some dishwashing soap. It is best to dry the pan directly after cleaning it. Because of the wooden handle the pans are not suitable for dishwashers.
