Cross-cut beechwood chopping block, oiled 500 x 350 x 50 mm
Our chopping blocks, an absolute must for every hobby and professional kitchenOur high-quality chopping blocks are made from the beech (Fagus Sylvatica) wood that comes from sustainably managed forests. The wood has a fine-pored, even structure. It has a high abrasion resistance and density. That's why she is particularly resilient and tough. The material is the perfect foundation for sturdy and durable chopping blocks.
A long-lasting purchase that is gentle on the knife and guarantees a high level of cut resistanceHere our blocks are made of end grain or end grain wood. The woods are cut across the fiber and thereby keep high pressure. End grain blocks have the advantage that even with regular use only a minimum of wood fibers is removed. Cuts in the wood caused by sharp blades close by themselves. You can therefore safely use your high-quality knives on our chopping blocks. In addition to our newly made chopping blocks, which provide an absolute slip resistance by silicone feet on the bottom, we also have a variant with stop edge in our range, which ensures additional support and stability on their worktop. When choosing, pay attention to the thickness of the blocks.

Tips for careYou can clean your block with conventional detergent and a damp sponge. It must not be soaked or cleaned in the dishwasher. Then you should dry the chopping block thoroughly and oil oil with sunflower if necessary. Please ensure a dry storage and do not expose the block to excessive moisture. It should be oiled every few months so that your woodchip chopping block preserves its beauty and its delicate shimmer. Recommended is sunflower oil that will leave you overnight. What was not absorbed by the wood, simply wipe off with kitchen paper in the morning.
Study on hygieneScientists have found that wood has a proven inhibitory effect on bacteria. This is explained on the one hand with the hydroscopic effect (the wood deprives the bacteria of the water, which makes an increase and survival impossible), on the other hand, components of wood itself have an antibacterial effect.
