Iron Pans Mineral B Element by de Buyer
The iron pan "Mineral B Element" by de Buyer is one of the essential things that you need to have in your kitchen. Iron pans are not only a cultural asset and a reliable kitchen tool that can be used on any cooker but also a "supplier" of tasty meals and quality. If you do not wash out your iron pan, a beautiful patina will develop over time which is not only protective but also give meals a delicious roasting taste.
Roast juicy steaks or fish filets such as salmon, halibutt with herbs or big king prawns with garlic in your iron pan. The traditional version of the iron pan is the "Poêle lyonnaise", which has a low brim and is, as a result, particularly suitable for roasting and flipping various kinds of food at hot temperatures.
What is special about the hand-made iron pans is not only the design and the craftsmanship of the traditional company de Buyer but also the fact that they consist of 100 % iron and undergo an extensive post-treatment: you will receive your iron pan freshly polished and coated with genuine beeswax. This ensures a natural protection from antioxidation and makes the metal look shiny.
The smallest iron pan version on offer has a diameter of 24 cm and a height of 3.9 cm while weighing 1.39 kg in total. The weight is 2.17 kg. The tilt angle of the brim is about 3.5 cm on each side so that the bottom area is 7-8 cm smaller than the opening. This, however, does not mean that you lose space. On the contrary, it is very helpful when cooking because the water can evaporate more quickly and the aroma can unfold without endangering the firmness to the bite of the meat or the vegetables.
The medium-range iron pan version has a diameter of 28 cm and a height of 4 cm. The weight is 2.17 kg. Here, the bottom area is also about 8 cm smaller than the opening.
The largest iron pan version has a diameter of 32 cm, a height of 4.2 cm and a total weight of 2.65 kg. Due to its considerable weight, it comes with a second, smaller, handle (unfortunately not shown on the picture). Here, the bottom area is also about 8 cm smaller than the opening. In this pan, you can cook sumptuous feasts or big portions with ease.
If you want something that you can use for the rest of your life, invest in an iron pan!
