Pocket knife from France Auvergne - Thiers Horn
Valuable French Army Knife: Auvergne - Thiers HornThe newly developed "Le Thiers" knife goes back to an idea of ??the old master within the fair guild. Ironically, in Thiers, the stronghold of cutlery, there was no regional pocket knife for a long time - while in almost all French regions, independent forms celebrated their breakthrough.
Today, there is finally a "Le Thiers" pocket knife as a symbol of the local knife art. Members of the knives guild on site are allowed to vary the given basic form independently. However, the result must be approved by a strict Commission.
This stylish variant from the blacksmith François Vachon is very hard-wearing. As a material for the polished handles horn is used with its natural color gradations, stainless steel jaws complete the curved handle. Typical of the "Le Thiers": the straight back of the blade made of 12C27 stainless steel with the type designation "Le Thiers" and the lettering "François Vachon". The quite compact pocket knife is easy to stow away. Closed it is 10 cm long, the blade measures 7.5 cm.
