Folding knife "à la d'Estaing" (19cm) - Au Nain - France - Extension knife
The folding knife "à la d'Estaing" is not only a masterpiece by the French cutlery maker Au Nain, but also the perfect hunting knife. This knife type was first designed in the year 1780 by Admiral Charles Hector, comte d'Estaing and has become an absolute must-have for any French hunter.
The folding mechanism functions as precisely as a clock mechanism and allows to lengthen the blade by 8cm when needed.
When folded, the knife's shape is reminiscent of that of a Bowie; when folded out, it becomes more similar to a dagger, thanks to its movable crossguard.
It provides indispensable service in any outdoor activity and is extremely reliable.
Approppriately enough for its style, you'll receive the knife "à la d'Estaing" in a robust black leather case.
Blade length: folded 11cm, folded out 19cm. Total length: 30cm.
